History of The Downtown Crossing Partnership

The Downtown Crossing Partnership was created in 1980 to oversee the revitalization project that closed the area to most vehicular traffic, creating a pedestrian mall. This visionary concept proved a catalyst for private investment, and the downtown business area was reestablished as a vital destination for residents, shoppers, office workers and tourists.

Today the Downtown Crossing Partnership continues to build on its success, concentrating on continuing improvement in the quality of life, infrastructure and economic vitality of the downtown area.
